We were baseball and softball ready on Saturday. Traveling from game to game with the kids and then off to a minor league game at night. This outfit is my casual version of this J.Crew inspiration. The sweater is a Forever 21 trendy buy from 2 years ago. I occasionally shop there when I am looking for something that is particular trendy and I don’t want to spend a lot of money. This trend has definitely stood the test of time. The shorts were another surprising Walmart find, Faded Glory 5″ Twill Shorts. They run big, I bought a size 4 and they fit perfect. The gray tee is so old, I can’t even remember where I got it. Accessories: New fave slip on Converse (seen here and here), navy watch from Target, Ray Ban Aviators, Nike Baseball Cap. The longer necklace was a recent birthday gift from my amazing group of Book Club friends and my own which I bought on Etsy from Caroline Grace Jewelry (maybe out of business, but her facebook page is here).

I am very hopeful that Spring is in full swing but the mornings are a bit cool.. so I seem to start my day wearing more that I am at the end of the day. This morning started with an old pair of GAP Jeans that look very boyfriend-esque and are in a light wash — they are called Slim Fit. This pair I cut the bottom and gave it a little roll to crop them up. This is another pair that I bought 2 sizes about 13 years ago (the other pair is seen here). I am so comfortable in sweatshirts lately…this is my embellished gray from Target (also seen here and here). The striped tee underneath is a new favorite (Faded Glory, Walmart) — it’s got a high-low hem that is perfect for half tucks. You’ll definitely be seeing more of this shirt this summer. The accessories in this outfit comprise of a scarf (a gift), my Converse All Stars (read more about these here), my Target watch clearance find (also see here) and a gloriously pink bag by Big Budda (TJ Maxx-also see here) and sunnies are J.Crew Factory last year (similar here and here).

Yes, yes it is. M was just looking over my shoulder as I was editing some photos and said… “Is that my shirt?”, “Looks better on you then it does on me!”. Love him. Anyway, it’s baseball season and I saw an outfit on another blog that I stalk and thought about my hubby’s closet. Great idea! Along with my GAP Skinny Denim Leggings (seen here and here), Converse All Stars (see this post for my tip on keeping them looking whiter longer) and my new bag for spring/summer this Big Buddah bag (TJ Maxx) in a glorious Hot Pink! Also, I did some watch shopping at my favorite spot, Target! I get the best boyfriend watches there for $10 to $20. And extra $10 gets them sized properly for my unusually small wrists. And so my collection grows. This one (similar here) reminds me of the TAG I bought M for our first anniversary. The extra chunkiness of the watch matches the oversized baseball jersey perfectly!

I have been looking for slip on white All Stars for years, but could never find them. So I decided to make my own! Who wants to mess with tying laces everyday — I have found life is so much easier with slip-ons. I just replaced the laces with elastic I bought a the local craft store, laced them up, slipped them on to make sure they were tight enough but not too tight, trimmed the ends an tied them into knots. Voila!

Another tip for white canvas sneakers…Spray them with Scotch Guard before you ever wear them, it will keep them whiter longer. Learned that one from a fellow cheerleader back in college. Genius.
