This has been one of my favorite outfits this spring. I bought the top at JC Penneys on clearance for $15.00. It’s made by Alyx and they call it a bubble top because it has a loose elastic bottom which makes it poof perfectly. The bell sleeves have lattice trim adding interest to an otherwise plain white top. This top will get me from spring and through summer easily. I see jean shorts and sandals. These jeans are GAP 1969 (also seen here and here) and quite old at this point — 3 years maybe (similar here). The boots are Ivanka Trump (also seen here) and I have worn the heck out of them, and love that they go all the way to my knees. The belt is the Thrift Store Find. I can’t remember how much it cost, but if it was more than $5 I would be very surprised. It is totally unique, which is why I browse thrift stores all the time. Sunglasses are RayBan 55 mm Aviators gold matte with brown lenses.

The star of this outfit is the buffalo plaid jacket, without question. It is a Thrift Store find. I bought it for $12.99, a complete steal. I love it and have worn it often this winter and now into the spring. This day I wore it over a monochromatic combo of black and charcoal grey. The faux leather leggings are from Target. I wasn’t sure about them at first, but under a long tunic top — I they look great! The sweater vest is sooo old. A TJ Maxx find from long ago (also seen here) and the boots were my fave footwear purchase of last year (seen here and here) inspired by the one and only OP. Hat and gloves are from my local supermarket–believe it or not. Happy Friday!

I’ve told you that I have many outfits to post, this is one from back in December. This flirty skirt is a Target Clearance item. What I love about it for me, is the flat smooth top of the skirt which emphasizes my smaller waist and the trumpet lower part that camouflages my less than impressive upper thighs. The material is a casual almost sweatshirt fabric and I just thought it was cute. I wore it with my fav navy striped shirt from J.Crew (seen here and here), black tights and loafers that are from my sales rep days when I walked on college campuses all day long and needed sensible shoes to make it bearable. The truth is I like these loafers and feel like they have made a comeback. The jacket is a thrift store find. I think it’s adorable. Cropped and plaid made it a great addition to my jacket collection (which is really quite large). It’s Tommy Hilfiger and although I’m not sure what it cost me — I did find it in the kids section (but it’s not kids) so I can’t imagine it cost me more than $10. Just recently I saw these pictures (here and here) of OP and thought there was some inspiration there that I hadn’t even realized.

I am in plaid heaven! If you haven’t gotten a plaid shirt or 5 for this fall and winter, go get some! I have overdone it, I’m sure, but I love all the shirts I’ve gotten and want to wear one almost every day. I hit the jackpot at, of all places, Walmart. They have these Tunic Length ones that are perfect for layering and front tucks. Today I layered it with a dark heather grey Tee I bought last summer from Target (also seen here). Distressed Skinny Jeans from Gap and my Arturo Chiang boots (seen here and here). I am still loving the color of these boots but I think I need higher ones for this season. So I am on the hunt). My quilted fleece is Target C9, last fall (also seen here).

Wearing white jeans can be risky when you have little ones, but I love them on those summer days that aren’t hot but not cool either. Today the kids and I are out and about, headed downtown for various fun events. 🙂 And per summer time crunches– I have not spent too much time getting ready for the day as is evident by my less than perfect hair (oh, well). I wore my LC jeans from Kohl’s (also seen here with the backpack) with my Grey Camo tee from Walmart (also seen here). I love the camo/white combo (inspiration here from last year) and the grey is a 2015 twist. The belt is an old Fossil belt (I like this one too), backpack is from BJ’s Wholesale club last year, French West Indies, sandals are TJ Maxx last year, Nine West, style: Solitude (still have some on Overstock) and sunnies are J.Crew Outlet 2014.

I love these shorts. I wear them often. I found them last year at Marshall’s after I saw a similar pair on Pinterest. I love the stripes that are more of a rope pattern and the gold button detail. They are my version of neutral because they go with anything. I like them with a polka dot ribbon belt that is reversible with stripes on the other side. The belt came with a white shirt dress I bought 10 years ago at Target — back when Isaac Mizrahi had a line there. For the 4th, I wore them with my red tube top (Walmart — seen here in mint green). Accessories: gold flip flops, Lands End; watch Target; bracelets, Mantra Bands (also seen here); cateye sunnies, Target.

This is a short but sweet post. Sweet like my Favorite Perry’s ice cream (hence the post name). Here’s an example of what I wear on a regular day, wrinkles and all. The strapless top is No Boundaries from Walmart — I have 3 of them (two from last year one from this). It’s a great alternative to a tank or tee. They are Junior sized and I hate it when they are too tight so I bought them in Large. Mint is not a color I usually wear but I like the way it looks with navy and I have plenty of that in my closet. Today I pulled out these grey linen drawstring shorts (Cynthia Rowley) I bought at TJ Maxx last spring. Let’s face it, over half of my wardrobe is Throw Back. I find ways to re-wear so many things! This top is no exception. I remember when I got it. I was definitely living in North Carolina, so that is at least 11 years ago. And I’m pretty sure I was not dating my husband so that takes us back at least another year, so I’m going with 13 years old. It’s a very light blue (looks almost white) with small details at the neckline. I particularly like the high slits on the side. I paired it with my favorite shorts — I have a few pairs– J.Crew Chino 4″ inseam. 4″ inseam are my go to for shorts. Even 3 1/2 feels too short for me. 5″ is doable, but it feels a little long. A few years ago I figured out that 4″ is the best for me and I buy almost nothing else, which makes for very easy shopping decisions. Accessories are my summer flip flops (Land’s End) and a stainless steel menswear watch from Target.

We were baseball and softball ready on Saturday. Traveling from game to game with the kids and then off to a minor league game at night. This outfit is my casual version of this J.Crew inspiration. The sweater is a Forever 21 trendy buy from 2 years ago. I occasionally shop there when I am looking for something that is particular trendy and I don’t want to spend a lot of money. This trend has definitely stood the test of time. The shorts were another surprising Walmart find, Faded Glory 5″ Twill Shorts. They run big, I bought a size 4 and they fit perfect. The gray tee is so old, I can’t even remember where I got it. Accessories: New fave slip on Converse (seen here and here), navy watch from Target, Ray Ban Aviators, Nike Baseball Cap. The longer necklace was a recent birthday gift from my amazing group of Book Club friends and my own which I bought on Etsy from Caroline Grace Jewelry (maybe out of business, but her facebook page is here).
