DIY French Manicure, Frence Manicured Toes, Ivory Nail Polish, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, Sheer Force

I love the look of a French manicure on toes.  Something about it says, I just pampered myself at a salon!  If you know me, you know that that is a rare occasion.  So I did my own and instead of using the French White tip color (opaque bright white)  I used this sheer off white color by Sally Hansen Spring 2015 Collection, Sheer Force.  I think it looks a little more everyday, not too fancy.

Columbia Restaurant, End of the year, Freezie Mitts, Sangria, Sangria Pitcher, Target, Teacher's Gift

Teachers are people too!  I love all the cute Pinterest worthy ideas for teacher’s gifts, but when I give my gifts I just think about all the mugs and chachki they must get over the years so I try to give something they can use!  This year I decide to give the gift of the best sangria we’ve ever had (and we have tried many).  The pitcher is from Target $7.99, the mix is part of our annual stash that we buy from Colombia Restaurant in Florida, and orange and a lime — all they have to do is add the wine.  I also included these cute Freezie Mitts I found at Premier Gourmet since G’s teacher as little ones.

flamingo tee, graphic tee, graphic tee with lace, Ivory lace shorts, Kohl's, lace shorts

I am sometimes surprised with what I pull out of my closet and this is one of those outfits.  I was just running errands, but then I got a call and realized I was going into school for the second grade pizza party, surprise!  The good news is that I didn’t look like a total mess.  The lace shorts are from the Walmart Juniors section.  I saw an identical pair in TJ Maxx a few weeks after I scooped these up.  I bought them in black too, seen here.  Just like my last post, they are a large.  I definitely did not want these to be too tight.  The shirt is a very recent purchase from Kohl’s.  I was looking for a graphic tee — you know the ones with a statement or word on it? Anyway, I saw this flamingo and had to have it.  It’s an X-Small.  I think it’s meant to be a very baggy tee but I wanted it more fitted and even still in an extra small, it’s fairly loose.  The flip flops are last summer Lands’ End.  The purse is Nine West and either TJ Maxx or Tuesday Morning.  Watch is Target.

This is a short but sweet post. Sweet like my Favorite Perry’s ice cream (hence the post name).  Here’s an example of what I wear on a regular day, wrinkles and all.  The strapless top is No Boundaries from Walmart — I have 3 of them (two from last year one from this).  It’s a great alternative to a tank or tee.  They are Junior sized and I hate it when they are too tight so I bought them in Large.  Mint is not a color I usually wear but I like the way it looks with navy and I have plenty of that in my closet.  Today I pulled out these grey linen drawstring shorts (Cynthia Rowley) I bought at TJ Maxx last spring.  Watch is Target (this spring, clearance, close-up here), flip flops are Lands End (last spring also seen here and here)

Ever look at your closet completely befuddled?  What am I going to wear today?  I am particularly challenged when I have something I have to dress up for.  I live in casual clothes.  So for my friend’s daughters’ christening I stared at my closet for quite awhile before coming up with this outfit and I really like it.  It was dressy but not too dressy.  The skirt is Target from 4 years ago.  I love it because of it’s colors and pattern but also I can dress it up or down and it has pockets!  I’ve worn it with tanks and tees but I can dress it up with a blouse or cardigan sweater.  Today it’s something in between.  With my oversized menswear shirt from last fall (TJ Maxx, also seen here and here) and white tank from Target, half tucked to make it feel more casual.  The shoes are my pop of color!  They are so old I can’t even remember where I got them.  If I were going to buy another pair — I might go for these –love them! The blue and orange combo never grows old for me.  A little side note, the summer after my senior year in high school I went to Spain.  I had to pack for a whole summer.  As we shopped (probably all at TJ Maxx), my mother and I decided on a color palette so that I could make multiple outfits with fewer pieces.  So blue and orange became the winning combination for Summer 1987.  I wonder if that is why I still love it to this day.

Columbia Restaurant, Fuschia, Long Necklace, Navy, Palazzo, pink bag, Sangria, Target Watch

DSC04325DSC04330 DSC04332

These might be my new favorite pants. After so many years of skinnies, palazzos are back!  They are so comfortable and I love how they kind of look like a maxi skirt but without being cumbersome like a maxi skirt.  I just got it this week on clearance at Target.  I made a killing at Target.  The tank top is old Target in a dark fuchsia, but they have them on sale this week 3 for $27.  I can never have enough white ones, so I bought a white grey and a couple of new V-Neck tees on sale for the same price.  Necklace was a birthday gift (also seen here)and the watch is also Target, last spring.  The sangria is the best we’ve ever had from Columbia Restaurant.  We buy it by the case.  Yummm.

I feel like I need to layer even at this time of year.  I know it’s not summer yet, but it’s been feeling like it lately (thank goodness!)  The mornings are cold, but then it heats up to 80.  This is how I handled it on today.  I belted a baggy sweatshirt over my sundress.  Simple.  The idea of belting a bulky sweater is a la Sarah Jessica.  The dress is a TJ Maxx find from the end of the season last year.  I find the best stuff at the end of the season.  It’s a halter dress, which I love because it makes your shoulders look wider which in turn makes your hips look smaller (yay!), but it is a little loose up top so to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions I wear my Express cami under it.  The sweatshirt is from the men’s section at Walmart (also seen here).  The belt is an old Target purchase.  I love these braided belts because they can fit anywhere.  Around your waist, or hips with no hole punching.  Gold flip flops are Lands End, also clearance from last year.  Watch is Target (clearance this spring) and bag is Big Buddha (TJ Maxx).
