More from my new plaid collections of shirts. This is the only Buffalo Check I have, but it’s in the classic red with charcoal grey. This shirt is in tunic length from Walmart (another pattern seen here) and half tucked into my jean leggings from GAP, 1969 collection (seen here and here, similar here). The coat has become a staple for me (Target C9, last year, also seen here ) The blanket scarf was what I found after Land’s End ran out of the Stewart Plaid last winter (also seen here), but I actually like this one better and if you need this in your wardrobe, head to Bluebirds and Sunshine at the Galleria Mall. I just saw it there in a darker hue. The Boots? …now the boots are brand new. I have been on the hunt for riding boots that are tall like my Hunter boots (16 1/2 “). In my experience here in Buffalo, the best place to buy boots is Lord and Taylor. Not always the least expensive, but not run of the mill and you will love them for years. This pair is awesome! Black with bronze back panels and metallic heel embellishment give something unexpected to these riding boots. Made by Sam Edelman, his Circus line, online at 6pm for $62.00. St Patrick’s Day Parade! So many great memories of going when I was in my 20’s (for obvious reasons) and when the weather is agreeable, we’ve taken the kids.

This sweater is one from the great sweater buy at Marshall’s of 2015 (other sweaters are here, here and here). I love the navy and green combo and have worn it many times since I bought it. Plaid seemed appropriate for the day’s festivities so I’m once again wearing my fav blanket scarf from ASOS (also seen here). Jeans are Leggings from GAP (seen here and here). The jacket is NEW! I found it on clearance at Target last week. Love it! It’s fleece with nylon quilting. Of course, now I can’t find it on their website, but it was $22 (similar here). A “cannot pass up this deal” purchase (even hubby agreed with me on this one). Boots are Hunter Original Tall in Green. If you are thinking of getting a pair — now is the time. When all this snow melts it is going to be one sloppy baseball/softball season! The knit hat is cable knit, black with silver threads and who can resist a pom-pom on top? I bought it at our local supermarket (go figure) in their seasonal section — clearance of course, $5.00. So great I bought 5 of them (different colors) and G and I share. 🙂

I read somewhere this week that trending colors this year include Navy and Blush. I love Navy. So much better than black as a neutral. And blush is a color that I buy for myself because it looks good with my skin tone, so, I happen to already have some in my closet. As usual, a simple comment or photo sent me digging through what I already own. Today was chilly, but not too cold, so I layered a sleeveless lace top under my blush polka dot sweater, which is short enough so you can actually see the lace top (both 2013 TJ Maxx). More pattern, more texture. My jeans are actually Legging Jeans from Gap, these are a little different wash from mine but the same fit. They’re great after one or 2 wears and perfect to go inside boots. The boots are my new favorites, over the knee, Chinese Laundry. The scarf is an old Banana Republic find.. I think it was actually a sarong. It is a great neutral color so I have always used it as a wrap (early in it’s life–Y2Kish or a scarf–recent years). My Utility Jacket is another TJ Maxx find (sashimi-similar here), It’s really light so I layer with it all the time. I wear it over sweaters, fleece jackets and vests.
